Description

Orange Shakri, also known as Succari, is a sweet orange variety grown in the citrus belt of Punjab, especially around Sargodha. Both of its names refer to sugar (shakar and sukkar), reflecting its remarkably sweet taste. Shakri is known for being almost free of acidity, giving it a smooth, mild, honey-sweet flavor without the sourness of other oranges. The fruit has a bright orange skin and tender, juicy segments. It is a winter fruit and is especially loved by children, elders, and anyone who prefers a gentle, non-sour citrus taste. Beyond its sweetness, Orange Shakri is a rich source of vitamin C, along with dietary fiber, folate, potassium, and antioxidants that help strengthen immunity, support heart health, aid digestion, and promote healthy, glowing skin. It can be enjoyed fresh as segments, squeezed into fresh juice, or added to fruit chaat and salads. Orange Shakri brings the pure, natural sweetness of Pakistani citrus to every bite.
