Saroli Mango is one of the earliest mango varieties to appear during Pakistan's mango season. It is mainly grown in mango-producing areas of southern Punjab, including Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, and Khan Garh, as well as parts of rural Sindh. The Multan region is also known for its Saroli orchards.
In some areas, Saroli is also known as Saharani. This small to medium-sized, oblong mango is recognised by its thin, delicate skin, which develops a warm yellow color with orange undertones as the fruit ripens.
The flesh is juicy, aromatic, and naturally sweet, with a light tang and a gentle amount of fiber. Its refreshing flavor makes Saroli a popular choice for enjoying the first mangoes of the summer.
Ripe Saroli Mango can be eaten fresh or used to prepare mango shakes, lassi, desserts, and other refreshing summer treats. Firmer raw mangoes can also be used in tangy chutneys and traditional preparations.
As an early-season mango, Saroli has a special place in Pakistan's mango culture, offering mango lovers an opportunity to enjoy the season's first flavors while also providing naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and dietary fiber.
